Karen Watts is the West Region Professional Products Market Manager for Crop Production Services (CPS). She has been employed by CPS, formerly known as Western Farm Service (WFS), since 1985 in a variety of sales and management positions. CPS is an Agrium company (NYSE- AGU) and the largest retailer in North America of crop inputs (fertilizer, seed and crop protection products). Mrs. Watts holds a California Pest Control Advisor’s (CPCA) license.
Mrs. Watts was appointed in 1999 to the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, College of Agriculture Food and Environmental Science Advisory Council. She is the incoming Chair of the CAFES Advisory Council for 2016-2018. This council assists the Dean in working to keep the college relevant to with industry.
Among her many professional affiliations and leadership roles she is a long-time member of the California Association of Pest Control Advisors (CAPCA). In 1997, in recognition of her exemplary service to the industry, she was awarded CAPCA’s highest honor – Member of the Year. She served as the CAPCA representative to the CA Green Industry Council and was President in the 1990s. Mrs. Watts is a founding member of the Cal Poly Kappa Delta Sorority SLO chapter and has served her community in various positions with her church and local schools.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She and her husband Patrick, who works for Hines Nurseries, have a son, Jacob, who is making his way in the production side of the Southern CA film industry.
