Tom Lucas started his career in the green industry in 1976 as a gardener.  In 1981 he became a landscape contractor. He then opened Performance Nursery in 1984 in Long Beach, California. He is an active Rotarian & Elks Club member. He is also active in the Catholic Church, an AG Leadership alumni #34 Class, past President of the Nursery Association, active in CLCA and became the youngest Life Member in 2007.  His past activities include the Class Fund/Landscape Architect Association.

His hobbies include his beloved Golden Retrievers – Bella, Gunner, Gracie & Luna and he has six sets of golf clubs, but doesn’t get to play much!
