Chuck Hoover

President, CH Sales

Chuck Hoover grew up in the small town of Fulton, Missouri. From an early age, he knew that the farm life was not for him and welcomed the opportunity to join the United States Marines as soon as he was able. During his time serving in the active military, he had two tours of duty in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant.

His first job, following his discharge, was with a PVC extrusion company, working as a customer service representative. He quickly recognized that he wanted to try sales next. As soon as the opportunity came about, he accepted a sales position with another company that offered him the same pay, but with the opportunity he wanted.

This sales position helped him to continue to be recognized in the industry as a professional salesperson, with opportunities to advance with Rain Bird (District Manager), Champion Sprinklers (National Sales Manager and Irri-Trol (Vice President of Sales). Then with the sale of Irri-Trol, he decided that it was time to open his own independent agency, CH Sales.

When he first opened his agency in 1987, Chuck knew that he wanted to try something a little different. So, while in its infancy, Chuck took an opportunity to represent a landscape lighting company. Although offering something different in the beginning, the landscape lighting business became more fragmented over the years, causing his passion to diminish. That is...until the advent of LED, which started a whole new market. This new type of lighting re-invigorated Chuck’s passion.

Over the course of his career, Chuck was also able to obtain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.  CH Sales, Inc. is still a family business, with now three generations, representing companies that have a concentration in LED lighting for exterior as well as interior applications. The largest being Kichler Lighting.

Chuck currently lives in Oceanside, California with his wife Rose. They recently celebrated their 43rd anniversary and have one son and three grandsons who live in nearby Fallbrook.
