The individuals nominated should have made a significant impact or positive influence that assures the future of our industry in the lives of generations to come.

 

Once nominated, an individual’s biography and photo are updated on the site, and he or she is placed in the polls for voting. At the end of the year the committee takes into consideration the votes and decides which candidates are inducted.

 

Those with a star (*) next to their name below were either inducted posthumously or have passed away since being inducted.

Inge Bisconer

 

Inge Bisconer, Managing Member of Surf ‘N Earth Enterprises, is a technical sales and marketing consultant who has worked 40+years in ag irrigation sales, marketing, technical and management roles for leading irrigation equipment manufacturers. She is passionate about helping farmers become better irrigators, and leveraging her unique perspective as a farmer, environmentalist and urbanite to help agriculture become more profitable and sustainable through improved water and resource use efficiency (WUE and RUE).  Her current focus, in partnership with AGH20, is co-developing a software tool called the DU and ROI Estimator that facilitates the discovery of poor irrigation system DU, monetizes its value and identifies where correctional investment is warranted.

 

Key accomplishments include co-developing, in conjunction with AGH20, the DU and ROI Estimator program; developing a field slide rule calculator for the Almond Board of California; serving as Principle Investigator for the Irrigation Innovation Consortium's Irrigation Industry Survey and Needs Assessment; authoring Toro's Education Portfolio including the award winning Toro Ag Owner’s Manual, a comprehensive drip irrigation guide for row, field and permanent crop growers; co-hosting Toro’s award winning radio show, The Water Zone Ag Podcast on iTunes; managing Toro’s popular AquaFlow drip irrigation design software; launching Toro’s award winning drip irrigation recycling service; authoring Chapter 11 in the Irrigation Association’s textbook, “Irrigation: Sixth Edition”; and recording webinars for The Grange Network and the University of California.

 

She holds a BS in agriculture from UC Davis, an MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix, and taught Soil Science and Landscape Irrigation at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, CA. She is an Irrigation Association certified CID and CLIA, and is past-chair of the IA Drip/Micro CIG which launched the Drip/Micro Irrigation Payback Wizard to estimate the ROI of a drip investment. In 2016, she received the IA's Industry Achievement Award, its highest honor, and in 2024 she received the ASIC's Women in Irrigation award.

 

Bisconer’s volunteer duties include service as 1) Past Director (2010-2020) and President (2014) of the California Irrigation Institute (CII); 2) Environmental Commissioner (2017-2021) for the City of Encinitas, CA; and 3) Director (since 2018) and President (2024) of the Irrigation Association.
