The individuals nominated should have made a significant impact or positive influence that assures the future of our industry in the lives of generations to come.

 

Once nominated, an individual’s biography and photo are updated on the site, and he or she is placed in the polls for voting. At the end of the year the committee takes into consideration the votes and decides which candidates are inducted.

 

Those with a star (*) next to their name below were either inducted posthumously or have passed away since being inducted.

  • Has made contributions that resulted in change
  • Contributed to mankind’s needs in his field

Lisa Smith

 

Lisa Smith, Registered Consulting Arborist #464, is the owner of The Tree Resource, a California tree-consulting firm based in West Los Angeles.  The Tree Resource is a full service arboricultural consulting firm, providing all aspects of tree management. 

Ms. Smith began her career in the tree industry over twenty-eight years ago, working for one of the nations largest tree contractors, providing arboricultural programs for many of the largest commercial projects in Southern California.  During that time, Ms. Smith was able to work in many arenas of the tree industry, from large-scale inventories for tree management, installation and planting, construction management and protection, large-scale maintenance, IPM (Integrated Pest Management), and risk management as the first Qualified Tree Risk Assessor in Los Angeles.

As the owner of The Tree Resource, Ms. Smith also works as one of only 3 instructors in the Western States for the Tree Risk Assessors Qualification.  Many large commercial properties, universities and theme parks utilize Ms. Smith to assist in evaluating and prioritizing tree risk management and mitigation strategies in their urban canopies. 

Ms. Smith has also been active within the Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, and served as a Director and President of the Board.

 

She enjoys providing educational opportunities for industry professionals and affiliate green groups, including being an Instructor for the UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture program, teaching the Trees Materials course.
